Oral Evaluation
An oral examination is a visual inspection of the mouth, head, and neck, performed to detect abnormalities. An oral evaluation is recommended every six (6) months to prevent cavities and other dental problems.
Oral Prophylaxis (“Cleaning”)
A dental cleaning, also known as an oral prophylaxis, is the removal of dental plaque and tartar (calculus) from the teeth. Specialized instruments are used to gently remove these deposits without harming the teeth and then polishing the teeth.
Dental Sealants
Dental sealants are just like a filling, but with no drilling or removal of tooth structure. They are indicated when there are deep grooves or crevices in the tooth surfaces, which are too small to be cleaned with a toothbrush, but are large enough for bacteria to accumulate in and cause decay. Sealants can prevent or delay cavity formation in teeth that have these traits. Sealants are performed in a single visit.
Fluoride Treatment
Custom Nightguards / Occlusal guards / Retainers
Our office can fabricate custom oral appliances that can protect your teeth and gums during sports, alleviate sleep apnea symptoms to provide an open airway while you sleep, or relieve stress on the temporomandibular joint caused by clenching or grinding of the teeth.
Periodontal Therapy
Home care is an extremely important part of maintaining healthy teeth and gums, but even excellent home care cannot prevent bacteria and plaque. If the plaque is not removed, it can harden, becoming calculus that can lead to gum disease.
